Siempre nos encontramos con que todo el mundo quiere dar argumentos científicos contra nuestra ideología.
Desgraciadamente, desde los memorables tiempos de Newton (quien muchos dicen era vegetariano, pero la verdad es que sólo era un gran admirador de los animales, sobre todo de los gatos, y sí le creaba conflicto comer animales para sobrevivir) e incluso todavía salvable la época de Einstein (quien sí era vegetariano declaradísimo), la ciencia ya no es lo mismo. Contaminada con política, un poco de religión y yo creo que hasta de futbol, cualquiera puede utilizar un poco de ciencia, pseudociencia y me atreveré a decir que estadística o métodos experimentales que no son robustos ni confiables (reliable & robust) para demostrar sus creencias... la ciencia se ha vuelto en los últimos tiempos, más que una herramienta de conocimiento, una herramienta para desacreditar al otro.
Siempre vamos a encontrar estudios "científicos" para probar una cosa y otra, unos contradiciéndose entre ellos, un estudio más reciente diciendo que los descubrimientos anteriores eran incorrectos y otros más diciendo que ambos eran correctos y así sucesivamente. En cuanto a ciencias que no son exactas o disciplinas que no pueden ser comprobadas de manera robusta por medio del método científico, lo que concluyan los estudios siempre será dudoso, pero nos da una buena guía para conocer más y más y sobre todo, para respondernos algunas preguntas que no nos dejan dormir por las noches, al menos en lo que alguien más responde de una manera que no nos gusta cómo se lee (o suena).
Aún cuando a continuación se presentan estudios científicos serios (en su mayoría) como argumentos a nuestro favor para sostener el veganismo, también es cierto que existen contra-argumentos. Es nuestra responsabilidad buscar esos contra-argumentos para tener los dos puntos de vista y ser bien objetivos, no los incluyo porque no quiero darle armas a nuestros "enemigos" pero sí los invito a que lean los argumentos contrarios, para que se den cuenta que el veganismo se sostiene por todos los puntos que quieran siempre y cuando sepamos que es decisión propia e ideología filosófica, de ahí en fuera, cualquier argumento es rebatible y hasta destruido científicamente por muchos estudios serios que se presenten.
